/My Recommended Book List for Healing, Transformation, and Awakening
This post contains affiliate links that benefit me at no cost to you.
I believe you have the power to heal anything in your life. I have compiled a list of books that have been life-changing for me and that I recommend to others on a regular basis.
A lot of books I recommend are on addiction because I have overcome addiction in many of its different forms and want to pass on what worked for me. One addiction I have no desire of overcoming is my love of books! As I am always reading something new, I will continue to add to this list over time. Feel free to check back.
Psychic and Mediumship Development
This book contains exercises that will help you to develop your psychic and mediumship abilities. Rebecca Rosen’s down to earth demeanor makes intuition development easy and approachable.
The Evidential Medium: A Practical Guide for Developing Mediumship by Kay Reynolds
Medium: A Step-by-Step Guide to Communicating with the Spirit World by Konstanza Morning Star
Spirit Circle Games: A guidebook for mediumship development circles by Rev. Joanna Bartlett
Spirit Animals
Animal-Speak is my go-to resource book for understanding the medicine and symbolism of spirit animals I encounter in nature, meditation, shamanic journey, and dreams.
Spirituality
The Prophet is my favorite book to use for bibliomancy. Bibliomancy is a form of divination that uses books for guidance, often a Bible or other sacred text. Ask a question, or simply what you need to be shown at this time. Shuffle through the pages without looking, stop on a page and drop your finger onto it when you feel intuitively nudged. The paragraph you land on is the message, with extra emphasis on the sentence or word your finger is touching. Read the whole section or page to acquire additional details if you feel called.
The Four Agreements is a framework of personal conduct to become the best version of yourself, be good to others and be happy and free.
Power vs. Force: The Hidden Determinants of Human Behavior by David R. Hawkins
Journey of Souls: Case Studies of Life Between Lives by Michael Newton
I highly recommend Journey of Souls to learn more about the evolution of the soul and the other side. There are many different opinions on what happens after we die, and as with anything, listen to your intuition as you read. Hold on to what resonates and let go of the rest.
In addition to Journey of Souls, I recommend Sylvia Browne’s books to learn about the other side and anything related to psychic abilities. The Other Side and Back is one of my favorites of hers, along with the next listing, Past Lives, Future Healing.
I have done many successful past life regressions on myself and others using the exercises in this book.
I Am the Word: A Guide to the Consciousness of Man's Self in a Transitioning Time, a channeled text by Paul Selig
I love listening to this book on Audible. I plan on reading it in the future, but I his voice holds the vibration of the channeled healing that is very powerful.
Rise Sister Rise: A Guide to Unleashing the Wise, Wild Woman Within and Light is the New Black: A Guide to Answering Your Soul's Callings and Working Your Light, by Rebecca Campbell
Rise Sister Rise and Light is the New Black by Rebecca Campbell are life changing! I also recommend these on Audible. (I was never an audio book person until I had a baby,— it is easier to listen than to hold a book when your hands are full :)
Psychology
Jung's Map of the Soul: An Introduction by Murray Stein - An easy-to-understand introduction and overview of Jungian Psychology.
The Hero with a Thousand Faces by Joseph Campbell
The Drama of the Gifted Child: The Search for the True Self by Alice Miller
Relationships
The Power of the Pussy: Get What You Want From Men: Love, Respect, Commitment and More! by Kara King
First of all, the title is hilarious! The Power of the Pussy (for anyone who identifies as female) helps the reader cultivate confidence and self-respect to embody energetic alignment with the type of relationship desired and allow a healthy, loving, partnership into their life. I read this book right before I met my twin flame, (who is now my husband) and have recommended it to all my single girlfriends.
Love Addiction
When I mention love addiction to people, most people have never heard of it, even professors and mental health practitioners. It is a common issue that is not commonly addressed. Love addiction can present in different ways but is related to childhood trauma and attachment wounding. A love addict is either anxious attached, avoidant attached, or both; and the result is a pattern of destructive, sometimes increasingly abusive, relationships. The goal is to heal the attachment wounds and develop secure attachment. Many people who are fascinated with the concept of twin flames have love addiction and are stuck in toxic relationships with false twin flames. These individuals often are twin flames, but will not attract their divine counterpart until they heal. I will be sharing more about this in future blog posts. I have recommended the following books (Ready to Heal and Facing Love Addiction) to many people, along with the previous listing. (The Power of the Pussy).
The basic text of the 12 Step program, Sex and Love Addicts Anonymous, (SLAA)
Codependency
Do you put others' needs before your own? Lose your identity in a relationship? Do you find you attract partners or friends who are addicts or alcoholics? Did you grow up in an alcoholic home? If you answered yes to any of these questions, you may be codependent. Codependent No More has self-assessment tests, exercises, and personal stories to help you heal.
If you think you are codependent, you would benefit from the 12-step program of Al-Anon, here is their basic text. Codependents Anonymous and Adult Children of Alcoholicsare two other 12-step programs appropriate for those who have struggled with issues related to codependency.
Substance Abuse
The basic text of the 12-Step program, Alcoholics Anonymous (AA).
Caffeine Addiction
I used to be heavily addicted to caffeine, and this book supported my successful detox and sustained abstinence from it. I would drink coffee and energy drinks all day, leaving me exhausted, anxious, and unable to sleep at night. Caffeine Blues opened my eyes to how prevalent and overlooked caffeine addiction is in our society and how it was negatively affecting my mental and physical health.
Phone Addiction
Women’s Health
Learn how to naturally balance your menstrual cycle!
The Rite of the Womb: The 13th rite of the Munay-ki
Not a book, but I highly recommend to all women.
Stardust is an app to track your menstrual cycles and sync your cycle with the moon. It’s free and provides daily information on the of the phase the moon combined with the day of your cycle and how those will affect you energetically.
If you are trying to conceive, I like the Period Tracker app. I used the “lite” or free version and it worked great for me.
Manifestation
The ONE instance where I think the MOVIE is better than the BOOK! The book has a lot of the movie verbatim, but I think the visual effects of the movie really help to demonstrate manifestation.
Ask and It Is Given by Esther and Jerry Hicks
Great book about manifestation/ Law of Attraction.
I love listening to Abraham Hicks on YouTube. Enter Abraham Hicks and any subject you can think of into YouTube and there is bound to be an audio on it! I recommend this to people all the time. Whatever you are trying to manifest or heal, there is a likely a video related to it. Ex: love, money, life purpose, family, marriage, divorce, anxiety, depression, grief, fear, pain, illness, dreams, travel, new house, new car, soulmate, gratitude etc. anything!
Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill
A classic book on manifestation.
Natural Birthing
This comprehensive study course comes in both a hardcopy and online version and includes mp3 downloads of lots of different hypnosis tracks. Hypnobabies is designed for pregnant women to have easy comfortable pregnancies and natural birthing. I highly recommend this to any pregnant woman, no matter what your birth plan. The Hypnobabies drastically reduced my nervousness as a first-time mom. I found myself using the relaxation and pain reduction techniques in many different ways and I also experienced an unexpected benefit of healing from sexual trauma.
Tarot and Oracle Card Decks
Ok, so this post is about books, but as long as I am recommending tools for healing, transformation and spiritual awakening, I had to throw in my favorite tarot deck and oracle deck!
The Rider-Waite Tarot Deck is one of the most well-known decks and was published by the Rider Company in 1910. It was created by mystic and academic A.E. Waite (1910) and illustrated by artist, Pamela Colman Smith (1910). The Rider-Waite Tarot Deck is so full of symbolism and archetypes that even after studying it for years, it still feels like I am merely scratching the surface. I have had the Rider-Waite deck for a long time, and although I own over thirty decks, I use this one in almost every reading I do.
I have tons of oracle decks, but Sacred Rebels is my favorite. When I do readings I often do not read the guidebook that comes along with the deck, but this deck is an exception. Alana Fairchild’s writing is like poetry for the soul; so divinely channeled that every time I pull a card, I feel like the description was written just for me.
I am always reading something new and will be continually adding to this list over time, feel free to check back!
